About me

Gabriel Labonté-Pelletier is a multidisciplinary artist based in Montréal whose practice revolves around airbrush painting and the visual language of the digital world. His work explores the poetry that emerges from connecting disparate subjects, drawing on personal references, nostalgia, and fragments of pop culture and art history. Through these links, he shapes new emotional landscapes—stories born from contemporary moments and lived experiences. Currently studying Art History at UQAM, he continuously refines this network of references while exhibiting his work in various contexts, including Art Cible’s pop-up exhibition, the Fierté Georges Laoun group show, and, more recently, the virtual exhibition at The Holy Art Gallery in London.

My body of work tells a kind of poetry woven from the connections between different subjects. I’m drawn to the new emotions and the linguistic possibilities that emerge from bringing together these themes and references. My visual language stands out through the use of references rooted in my own background and environment, as well as the links I create between elements of pop culture and art history. By forming these connections between subjects, I’m able to visualize new emotions—stories that unfold from the contemporary moments I’ve lived. I explore a range of themes grounded in felt experience, all articulated through the network of connections that shape my work.
